Venue Split A Distraction, But Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show 2012 Still A Great Time

Main show floor on day 2

This year’s Westminster Kennel Club dog show was truly a zoo, with the show split between two locations: the traditional floor of the Garden and the theater, which wasn’t that easy to find, despite all the ushers they had positioned around the arena. Practically speaking, once you were at the Theater to see the terriers, for example, you had to allot 20 minutes or so to get to the Expo and through the crowd to the ring you wanted. Of course, if it was hard for the attendees to navigate, I can only imagine how tough it was for the handlers. We saw handlers carrying their dogs through the bowels of MSG, on their way to their competitions, making their way through the hoards.

Among the highlights … Ace the black cocker spaniel who won his breed, upsetting Beckham, a favorite to win Best in Show:

Then there’s Bentley, another parti cocker spaniel and much more!
