It’s been said before, but I love the contrast between the glitz and the glam in Las Vegas and the seedy and unseemly. I love how they exist almost side by side ….
The beautiful lobby of the Bellagio, with a ceiling installation featuring 1,200 hand-blown glass flowers by Dale Chihuly …
… and a bottle of Everclear at the bar at B&B Ristorante at the Venetian … (how would Food Network feel knowing their Iron Chef Mario Batali’s restaurant features, er, grain alcohol?)
But perhaps the most telling was the airport – where for $4 more, you can get a shot to go with your beer at the airport bar. Or the fact that the cab driver who drove us told us how she got the name and number for a “gal, Annie, right here in Las Vegas who rescues ….” Wait for it.
