Azzurri Pressing

Forza Azzurri

What makes a team a “historic” slow starter or a team that’s known to be a “historic” choker?  It’s not like the same people play year after year.  But during the World Cup, there’s lots of talk of Italy being a slow starter,  Spain (or England) choking under pressure, etc.

Is there really such a thing as a national character for a sports team?  Not sure I believe it.

But I’m glad the Azzurri seem to be waking up from yet another sluggish start and pressing against New Zealand.
