Inauguration Observations

Obama Inauguration

Countless fur coats.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many full on, ankle length fur coats.  They looked warm, certainly.  But a little out of place?  Or perhaps my down puffer was out of place?

5 or 6 llamas – not counting the two my husband and I were wearing.  Sure, others had “ski hats” but a few privileged ones had the real deal Andean gear.

2 hand warmers.  The very cute, very petite woman in the fur trimmed coat, skinny jeans and suede boots, her boyfriend and his friend had only 2 handwarmers for the 3 of them.  I’ll take them both then, she says sugary sweet.

1 stairwell trimmed in red bunting.  If you squint, you can see the bunting, but you can’t make out anything standing under it.

Priceless:  being there with everyone else, straining to see the man standing in front of the red bunting, hand on Lincoln’s bible.
